Meet Karey Harris
Speaking has always been my calling. At 11 years old, a teacher encouraged me to enter my first oratory competition—and I won. That moment ignited a lifelong passion for sharing my voice, inspiring hearts and minds, and creating meaningful change. I’ve never stopped speaking, performing, and sharing my voice. Today, that same spark fuels my work as a speaker, podcaster, and empowerment coach.
I wasn’t born wearing the crown, I had to rise to claim it.
Growing up on a farm taught me patience, hard work, and the wisdom of seasons. Life has taken me through shadows and light, with both trauma and triumph shaping who I am today. Each scar became a jewel, each challenge a teacher, and every setback an invitation to rise stronger.
I wear a talisman engraved with “In Lumine Luce” (Shine in the Light). Its symbol, an arm rising from a crown holding wheat, reminds me that true leadership is about standing tall, bearing fruit, and guiding with wisdom and grace. That same spirit guided me as an NCCP-certified coach, where I had the honour of being named Coach of the Year, a national recognition that reminded me leadership isn’t about titles, but about helping others grow and shine.
That’s why I created Wheat Fields, Wisdom & Whiskey. It reflects my journey: rooted like a field of wheat, shaped by hard earned wisdom, and flavoured with the honesty, warmth, and fire of a good glass of whiskey.
Through it all, I’ve learned this: when honesty and wisdom collide, they spark connection that’s unforgettable. I share my story so others can see themselves in it, and rise into the brilliance of the crown they were always meant to wear.
